You heard it right. I have my own domain now. Check it out.
Okay, okay, I admit it. I jumped on the matte nail polish band wagon a few days ago, and can I say I am o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d? I participated in the nail polish swap box on the Purse Forum, and some kind ladies did not like the matte stuff, so they tossed it in the box. I wasn’t really sure about all the hype behind it, but I picked out a few bottles, and now I know! I love it.
The two colors I’ve tried so far are:
Zoya Veruschka, a matte, dark metallic-y green. The metallic is really subtle, and I am a sucker for anything metallic. Sorry for the horrible picture quality. I wanted to get a picture before my nails started chipping and it was nighttime…
I love how smooth in an unsticky, unglossy way it is. And the polish dries SO FAST, like within maybe a minute (I’m being generous here) without any worries of smudging. It’s really not fussy at all. You don’t even need to apply a base coat so it adheres to the nail better! So awesome. The only downside is that it chips really, REALLY easily. :( Oh well, that’s just an excuse to buy more nail polish and test out more colors, right? Right.
Also, is it just me or do my hands look really huge and somewhat deformed? They do not look that ugly in real life and are actually pretty petite, I promise.
I’m going to have a castle, and my castle is going to be rad. It’s going to have a moat, a basement, an attic, and it’s going to be zombie proof. I swear to god, there is going to be a zombie outbreak some day, and I will be prepared. Most people think I’m crazy, but you never know! Regardless, how cool would it be to say that your house is zombie proof house? Very. Anyway, I am moving further away from my point.
Today, my friend and I went estate/garage sale hopping, and I found this awesome treasure. I decided that my dining room will be furnished with this chair x however many spots on the dining table there are.
Excuse the poor picture quality; they were taken with my EnV Touch (which I love, by the way, and without it, I would have never seen this chair). According to the lady, this awesome chair was made in Germany (hence that Eagle) in the 1800’s! I think that post-it note said the 1840’s? I thought I was old. I love it. Love, love, love it, and I might kind of really need it in my life. The carving is so ornate, and intricate, and the rich color of the wood only serves to help emphasize that. I can just imagine sitting down at my dining room table feeling like a dictator or queen of some sort. Too bad it would set me back $400 right now. If I had that kind of money, I would have it, but alas, I can only fantasize about it like I fantasize about my castle.
It’s been a while since I last updated… mostly because I’m lazy and boring. I’m about a month back into school, and I don’t really feel like doing any schoolwork, so I thought I’d blog! Over winter break, my mom and I bonded over purses and she brought out her two most prized bags.
I’d like to share one of them with you! It is quite the beauty, even though its condition isn’t too great. My mom never wore it, but she didn’t store it properly so there are a few things wrong here and there.
I’ve never been much of a Fendi fan, but I saw this bag and it was love! My mom bought it on her honeymoon over twenty years ago. This bag is older than I am!
Love the “F” logo. It’s very subtle, and not in your face.
I also really love this perforated detailing. Perfect, and not over the top.
In this picture, you can see some of the color transfer from the leather to the canvas because the bag was improperly stored. I tried to remove some of it by gently rubbing with baby wipes, but the bag was not having any of that.
It’s slightly difficult to see in this picture, but the canvas stuck to itself/other things and it was peeled off. Click to enlarge.
The leather was pretty dry, so I conditioned it with some Cadillac Boot & Shoe Care. It liked it a lot.
Quick modeling shot. Excuse my clothing; I just returned from the gym when she unveiled this beauty, and I was ecstatic to play with it.
I managed to stumble across a vintage bag care guide in the Hermès subforum on the Purse Forum and got some tips to take care of this bag. It won’t be any time soon, but when I get my hands on it again, I will try to see if it helps the condition any. The bag is pretty fragile right now; the canvas flakes all over my clothing and the leather is still parched. Hopefully what I found will help, and if it does, I will post updated pictures!
Thanks for reading :) I hope it won’t be long till I post again. I still have some other things to share, like the overdue Rebecca Minkoff sample sale, and a cool Christmas present. Until then!
It’s Christmas day, and my email is slowly filling up with advertisements for sales. I’m pretty good at ignoring those, but I opened one from My Obsessions Boutique and found myself sucked into looking at Rebecca Minkoff bags. Pretty typical, right? However, what’s not typical is the 40% off all non-sale bags, and what’s not typical is me finding something that I really really like. Here are my picks:
Rebecca Minkoff Black Cat Morning After Mini Mini. I don’t know what it is, but I love all things mini! Must be because I’m petite myself. Anyway, the black cat leather is TO DIE FOR, and I heart gunmetal hardware. PLUS this bag has a cute blue zipper track. What’s not to love? Buy through My Obsessions Boutique with the code “40” for $177.Rebecca Minkoff Fuschia Morning After Mini Mini. Again with the Mini Mini… I’m not really a pink girl, but for some reason this bag just gets me. Maybe it’s because it’s a small dose of fuschia, maybe it’s the gunmetal hardware. Maybe both. Anyway, it’s too cute! Buy through My Obsessions Boutique with the code “40” for $177.And last, but certainly not least, the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Clutch in Dark Grey. Been looking for something in a pretty grey color. I found a Mini Nikki at the San Francisco sample sale that I loved, but I haven’t been able to find it online. The MAC will do. It’s perfect for every occasion, dressed up or dressed down. The grey is a great neutral, and the gunmetal hardware is a nice touch. Buy through My Obsessions Boutique for $198.
The Rebecca Minkoff San Francisco sample sale was today. I woke up bright and early and dragged several of my friends to San Francisco with me to help alleviate the costs of renting a car for the entire day. I have about a million photos from the sample sale itself, but I have finals to study for. I’ll upload my new beauty now, and the rest, whenever I have a break.
I was stalking the Los Angeles sample sale thread, and she popped up. I couldn’t stop obsessing. Then I showed up at 111 Minna St. this morning, and was immediately drawn. The leather is so soft. I can’t wait to use her and break her in and have a giant puddle of leather.
Without further ado, here she is: my brand new Deep Turquoise Zip Morning After Mini!
With flash and completely stuffed with tissue paper.
I LOVE the gunmetal hardware.
This beauty arrived for me in the mail today from Neiman Marcus. Managed to snag it at one of the mid day dashes for half off. I absolutely love this super soft pebbly leather, and the vibrant pink-y purple color. I couldn’t help myself when I saw it for such a steal.
I don’t think I will be keeping it though. As much as I love it, I have no real need for it. And circumstances tell me that this would make part of a cute little Christmas gift for my best friend. I think that is the path that I am going to go with this.
But for the time being, I can post pictures and drool as if it were my own! :)
Also, stay tuned! I’m heading up to San Francisco for something fun. Hopefully I’ll have lots of pictures to show you. Maybe some goodies too!
